The Initiative
The initial step to establish Einstein Bha-van at Santinikentan with the
co-operation of Visva-Bharati has been taken by an international body,
the Tagore Einstein Council [TEC] in 1996. It was readily accepted by
Visva-Bharati. The first International Tagore seminar ..Plurality of
the Plural World- Conflicts and Unity" was organised from 31st August
to 1st September 1996 in Berlin to commemorate the 75th anniversary of
Tagore's visit to Berlin, and the 75th anniverary of Viswa Bharti
